The Central Bank of Oman announced the issuance of a new series of coins in denominations of 50, 25, 10, and 5 baisa, which will enter circulation starting next month. The Central Bank also issued a commemorative coin set, available for purchase for one Omani Rial, starting tomorrow, Wednesday, August 19, 2020. The obverse of the coins features: the name of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq (may God protect him), the national emblem, and the Sultanate of Oman. The reverse of the coins features: the denomination in Arabic, the denomination in English, the word "baisa" in English, and the Hijri and Gregorian dates in Arabic.
