The Central Bank of Syria issues a new 2000 Syrian pound banknote.

The Central Bank of Syria issued a new 2,000 Syrian pound banknote today in an attempt to reduce the amount of cash circulating in the Syrian market after the Syrian pound's exchange rate plummeted from 50 pounds to the dollar to over 500 pounds currently due to the war that has been raging in Syria for more than six years.
